7 September 1992 France, Italy and Spain’s Defence Ministers develop the concept of pre-structured Maritime European Force.
   
15 May 1995 France, Italy, Portugal and Spain’s Defence and Foreign Affairs Ministers signed in Lisbon the Foundational Act of two European structures of forces (EUROMARFOR and EUROFOR).
   
2 October 1995 Spanish Admiral ACEDO MANTEOLA appointed as first Commanding Officer of EUROMARFOR.
   
23 April 1996 First activation of EUROMARFOR for playing EOLO ’96 Exercise.
   
1 October 2002 30 November 2002 (total: 2 months) First activation of EUROMARFOR for Real World Operations. EMF Operation “Coherent Behaviour” (in East Mediterranean sea).
   
14 January 2003 12 December 2005 (total: 28 months)   Second activation of EUROMARFOR for Real World Operation. EMF Operation “Resolute Behaviour” (in Indian Ocean).
   
26 – 30 November 2007 Activation of EUROMARFOR Task Group for MULTICOOPERATIVE Exercise 2007 with Algeria
   
29 February 2008 28 February 2009 (12 months) Third activation under UN of EUROMARFOR for Real World Operation. EMF Operation “Impartial Behaviour” (Eastern Mediterranean Sea – Lebanon Coasts).
