The EUROMARFOR military-political meeting took place in Paris on 20th November 2014.

Spanish Navy’s Meteoro class Offshore patrol vessel Rayo P42 waved goodbye to its Las Palmas Naval Base this morning. The vessel started its journey to the Indian Ocean where it will participate in EU NAVFOR’s Operation Atalanta under EUROMARFOR flag.

On Monday 10th November, the EUROMARFOR Flagship, ITS Andrea Doria, and the Chinese Flagship CNS Changbaishan met at sea in the Gulf of Aden.

The Commander of Chinese Naval Escort Task Group 989, Rear Admiral Zhuang Chuanshu, and the Commanding Officer of CNS Changbaishan, Captain Deng Xianwu, took the opportunity  to visit the EU Flag Ship and to conduct a courtesy visit on the Commander of EUROMARFOR Task Group and EU Force Commander, Rear Admiral Guido Rando. This was the second time that the force commanders were able to meet at sea since Rear Admiral Rando assumed the Force Command of EU Naval Force in August 2014.

ITS Andrea Doria, EUROMARFOR Task Group flagship, has completed her visit to Dubai.  The Italian Navy destroyer was in port to participate in the UAE counter-piracy week between Monday 27 and Friday 31 October.

The Spanish Navy frigate ‘Navarra’, of the EUROMARFOR Task Group, integrated into the counter-piracy operation ‘Atalanta’ in the Indian Ocean has organized a training session with Tanzanian Navy servicemen during a port visit to Dar es Salaam.

After completing counter-piracy patrols in the Indian Ocean, ESPS Navarra (EUROMARFOR task group ship inside the EUNAVFOR task force), entered the port of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, to re-supply the ship.

A delegation of EEAS and internation press representatived visited the EUROMARFOR flagship (and EUNAVFOR force flagship) on Operation Atalanta.

The winter meeting of the EUROMARFOR subworking group (SWG) took place in Paris on 23th October 2014.

On Saturday 18 October sailors from the EUROMARFOR flagship, within EU Naval Force, ESPS Navarra, embarked on the Danish frigate HDMS Esbern Snare.

On Thursday 16th October 2014 the EUROMARFOR and European Union Naval Force flagship, ITS Andrea Doria and Japanese Navy warship, JS Takanami, which is currently deployed with Combined Maritime Force CTF151, carried out a counter-piracy exercise at sea in the Gulf of Aden.
