EU Exercise MARSEC EU 25 conducted by the Italian Navy, as Leading Nation of EUROMARFOR, took place on 1–2 July in La Spezia, in full alignment with the EU Maritime Security Strategy, it focused on threats to seabed infrastructure (CUI) and IUU fishing.

Planned and conducted by ITN MINE COUNTER MEASURES COMMAND (MARICODRAG) with the close support of EMF Operation Centres (Italian Navy), Critical Underwater Infrastructures Surveillance Centre-CUISC and the COVAM (Centro de Operaciones y Vigilancia de Acción Marítima – Spanish Navy).

EU representatives, agencies such as EEAS; EFCA, FRONTEX, EMSA and EUSecurityDefence and NATO attended as observers strengthening cooperation, interoperability, and shared maritime awareness.

A strategic signal of EUROMAFOR’s role in protecting maritime security and interests.
